What are you doing the rest of your life?

Three years ago today I married my best friend {and pretty much had the best wedding weekend ever-just a little bias}.  I know it sounds touche, but it is true.  I married my perfect match.  He knows how to annoy me to no end, but he loves me for me and accepts it {sharp tongue and all}.

When I walked down the isle three years ago I thought our life would be completely different.  I was pretty naive when we first got married.  I thought everything would be rainbows and butterflies.  Well folks, that is not always the case-sorry to burst your bubble.  Two days after we tied the knot we moved to LA with no jobs, a blow up mattress, 2 camping chairs and whatever else we could fit in my Accord coupe.  For us it was about following our dreams and seeing what else the world has to offer.  Our first year of marriage was un-glamorous to say the least, but we made the most of it with Friday night sushi night at Niko Niko in Burbank and dance parties in our empty apartment.  Looking back now we have come so far in just three short years.  It makes me completely optimistic for what the next three years might have in store for us.

MG there is no one else on earth I would rather be on this journey with.  Life may not always go as planned {which drives me crazy}, but as long as I have you by my side I know life will work out the way it should.  I love you!

He is hot, funny, sarcastic, loving, caring, realistic, driven,  kind, charming and most of all the most important person in my life.  MG I love you with my whole heart.  Spending the rest of my life with you was one of the easiest decision I have ever made.  You are my best friend, lover, rock, confidant and workout partner.  What more could I ask for?! xo

I keep seeing this reoccurring theme on Facebook.  Girls who I have gone to high school and college with who have gotten married, divorced and aren't even 30 yet.  This makes me sad for them.  I am  intrigued as to why this happened.  Were they in love with the idea of having a wedding?  Did they marry someone who turned out to be leading a secret life?  Did they realize how much effort it takes to make a marriage work?  Did they want the pretty ring?

MG and I are not the perfect couple.  Some days our best isn't good enough and we end up fighting.  Other days life is wonderful and I can't believe how lucky I am.  We each have flaws and neither one of us is perfect, but we do our best, which is all I can ask for.

Announcing Your Divorce Via FB!

I know this could be a sensitive subject, but I have to vent about it quickly.  I get so annoyed with girls being in love with the idea of a wedding and not being prepared for what marriage is truly about.

How did this come about?  Well, this afternoon I was on FB and I saw a girl who I have known since grade school and she announced she was getting a divorce.  Yes, she did this on FB, {if you want FB to be a role in your announcement please use the messaging feature}.  TMI in my opinion.  Two years ago she had the big wedding, updated FB status all the time about the wedding, etc.  Everything was about the wedding!

I guess the whole thing wouldn't have bothered me so much, but this is the third or fourth girl I know who has gotten a divorce and is under the age of 26.  I don't want you to think that I am almighty because I am certainly not.  I believe that every couple has their own issues.  Sometimes they can't be worked out no matter how hard you try therefore divorce is the answer.

Yes, planning the wedding is wonderful, fun and exciting.  I just hope that each bride AND groom know that it is what happens afterwards that really counts!  Marriage isn't easy, I will be the first to admit, but when you have a loving partner and the desire to make your marriage work you can conquer any struggle you may endure!

The real & blog world is buzzing today about Prince Wi!!iam's engagement to Kate Midd!eton.  I must say that I am thrilled these two are getting married.  I think she is a doll and has waited a long time to get that ring, even thought it isn't the prettiest ring, it has sentimental meaning.

As a 12 year old girl my number one crush was HRH Prince Wi!!iam.  I became infatuated with British Royalty, Princess Diana, and Wills {as they used to call him in the tabloids.} I even wrote him a letter and got a response!  Well not from him, but from a secretary.  It said something like this...Thank you for your letter. HRH is not allowed to respond personally, but we will make sure he gets your letter.  Sincerely, insert name here.  At the time I thought it was the coolest thing in the world.  I actually still have the letter. Yes,I am a dork like that.

Today is MAG's 29th birthday!

M, Today you are not only another year older, but another year wiser.  This time last year you told me your goals for 29.  You have accomplished each and every one of them.   We have a lot to accomplish before you turn 30, but I know-like always-you will exceed my expectations.  I am so proud to call you my husband and best friend.
