A Dash of This and That

Last night I tired my first Zumba class.  While this might not have been my proudest moment shaking my groove thang with my co-workers it was a lot of fun.  If you haven't tried it, do it!  It is fun and a great workout.  You will also learn some great dance moves for the clubs ;)

After my Zumba class, I headed to a friends house in the Valley for a Potluck Italian dinner.  Hint on why I needed to work out ahead of time.  It was great meeting new people and catching up with old friends.  When we are all together it makes me want to move back to that area, but when we are on the westside we want to stay.  This is the NEVER ENDING debate between Marco and I.  One day we will make up our mind-maybe.

This weekend is filled with some fun things!  Tonight we are seeing the MJ Cirque show.  We bought these tickets 14 months ago so it is nice we are finally able to use them.  Tomorrow is movie day!  Sunday we are celebrating Ashley's bday with pizza and Diddy Riese.  I swear this girl know the way to my heart pizza and cookies.  It is the perfect way to spend the weekend!

What's on your agenda?!  Have you seen the MJ Cirque show?  I can't wait to tell you all about it on Monday.

Happy Hump Day!

My new Wednesday Sweater :)
I'm LOVING today is Hump Day!  Monday and Tuesday alone have felt like full weeks here at the office.  I think it is payback for last week being so easy while my boss was out.

Cookies for February
I'm LOVING next week is February.  There are so many fun things planned for this short month and I can't wait!  First up is the blogger meet-up in San Diego!

I'm LOVING I found my song!

Travel On!
I'm LOVING we are starting to plan trips.  There may be a trip back home for a weekend this spring.  Marco's brother is graduating HS.  I started dating Marco when he was just 3 years old.  Craziness.

Nike 'Free Run 2+' Running Shoe (Women)
I'm LOVING my new running shoes.  Technically I haven't bought them yet, but they are mine in my mind.  Come February 1st when my spending band is up they will be mine.

french bulldog!
I'm LOVING the pet store by my house will only carry adoptable dogs, no puppies from mills.  This will make me feel a lot less guilty when we go and look at our potential fur baby.

I'm LOVING hot chocolate.  Each afternoon this week I have indulged, it has been the perfect way to end my work day.

I'm LOVING my mom finally sent me pictures from Christmas.  I took about 14 the entire time {fail}.  Now I can finally do my holiday recap.  Only a month late.

I'm LOVING this video...so very, very true.

Oscar Nominations

The Oscars are like my Super Bowl.
I love them!
This will be Marco's and my 14 year watching them together.  When he was in college I would always take the Monday after off work so we could watch them together on Sunday night.  Yes, I am that dedicated.

We live in LA for one reason, film, with the goal of one day making a movie that leads to another and another and then one day when he is old and gray maybe an Oscar.  It is that dream that keeps us here each and every day.

Well this morning the nominations were announced.  We have been hesitant to see any films lately because we don't want to waste money on ones that won't be nominated.  At $30 a pop for 2 tickets we have to choose wisely.

Our list of must see movies before 2/26 is a mile long and include the following:

The Artist
The Descendants
Hugo
Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close
Midnight in Paris*
Moneyball*
The Tree of Life*
War Horse
The Help
My Week with Marilyn
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
The Iron Lady
Beginners*
Hell and Back Again*
If a Tree Falls: A Story of the Earth Liberation Front*
Paradise Lost 3: Purgatory
Pina
Undefeated
Bullhead
Monsieur Lazhar
A Separation
Footnote
In Darkness
*available on Netflix

21 films total so at this rate we will have to watch 5.25 movies a week.  While I don't think that is going to happen realistically we are going to start this weekend with Moneyball, The Descendants and The Tree of Life.

Monday Blues

What an awesome start to this rainy Monday!  Please note the sarcastic tone. I think it is pay back for last week being so great.  Hopefully today is a fluke and things will get back to normal tomorrow.
Rain

This weekend was chill.  Marco and his cinematographer spent most of the weekend color correcting a project they are working on so that meant I caught up on One Tree Hill episodes, cleaned, watched football, had a dance party with myself and decorated a little.

We did manage to squeeze in a Chick-fil-a date, Home Depot run and see The Separation.   Overall it was just what I needed.

This week I am hoping to get to the gym 4 or 5 times, meet up with Ashley, cook a new recipes aka try veal for the first time, a pot luck dinner with friends and ending the work week with Michael Jackson's Immortal at the Staples Center.

The week looks promising.  I hope it ends better than it started.  Fingers crossed.

Almost there...

Happy FRIDAY ya'll!
Are you as happy as I am the weekend is just a few short hours away?

Last night I had my very first blate with Ashley.  She is awesome.  I kind of wish her and her husband were out here for longer than 3 months.  I had so much nervous energy before hand I had to go to the gym first and then I showed up in my workout clothes feeling out of place because this is a blate and you want to look cute. haha  We hit it off and I am excited to get to know her better:)

Also last night Marco's old roommate, Sing, was in Atlanta shooting a TI/Jeezy/Tiger music video.  He invited my sisters to come on set.  They were so excited.
Picture from the shoot

This weekend is packed with arts and craft projects as well as a trip to Chick-Fil-A.  Its the small things friends, when CFA is taken away from you or is 15+ miles away you crave it more.  I promise.

I hope you have a fabulous weekend!

Mission

Last night I had a ton of energy and am pretty bored with our apartment so I decided to organize.  Thrilling, I know.  During my organization spree I found 50+ mixed CDs that I made from 2000 to 2006.  You can only imagine what gems are on there.

I am on the hunt for one song in particular, it is my favorite workout song ever and you can't buy it on iTunes or amazon.  It is available on a single, but I don't want to shell out the $7 for it.  Lame I guess?

The song is Madonna's What It Feels Like For A Girl remixed by Paul Oakenfold.

If you see me on the freeway over the next month rocking out to bad remixes, Ashlee Simpson or 90's rap is it because I am on a mission and reliving my teenage years.

What I'm Loving

I'm LOVING Spring is right around the corner.  It's been cold in LA the past few days and I am sick of my "winter" wardrobe.  Bring on the bring colors and warm breeze.

I'm LOVING that I got to spend time with this little guy this past weekend.  We had quality bonding time watching the Saints/49ers game.

I'm LOVING my sister is coming out to visit in March!

I'm LOVING my boss is out of town this week so I get to come in late and leave early.

I'm LOVING my husband.  He is so darn cute and makes me smile everyday.  Without him my whole world would be different.

I'm LOVING I am meeting a Ashley from Adventures of Newlyweds tonight for coffee.  Yay for meeting new people!

I'm LOVING that I have a lunch date today with a fellow co-worker!  She always shows me the best lunch spots.  Today is a place that serves the best Chicken Tortilla soup.

I'm LOVING crafts!  With a few guests over the next few months I was so spruce up our place and get my craft on.

Golden Globes

It is just me or does it seem like the majority of the starlets hit it out of the ball park last night with there dresses?!

NUDE AND IMPROVED: Nobody pulls off a red carpet number quite like supermodel Heidi Klum.
My favorite look of the night!

BEST: SHAILENE WOODLEY - Newcomer Shailene Woodley, who was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role in 'The Descendants,' looks effortless elegant and age-appropriate in this shimmering gown.
Such a sweet dress for her age

FISHTAILS: Supermodel and presenter Elle Macpherson glows in a tiered cream confection.
When I saw Elle I told Marco I want to look like her when I am her age.  He said that would be fine.

RED HOT: Reese Witherspoon looks ravishing in a curve-hugging Zac Posen.
Reese looks sexy, something she doesn't do often.

HERE COMES THE SUN: They don't call them the Golden Globes for nothing! Diane Lane glitters in a sparkly gold confection.
Love Diane Lane

PURPLE REIGN: Best Supporting Actress winner Octavia Spencer looks like anything but 'The Help' in this lilac Tadashi Shoji.
I thought she looked beautiful.  The dress really complements her curves.

PURPLE REIGN: Jessica Alba shows off her incredible post-baby body in a bejeweled Gucci gown.
Beautiful

NUDE AND IMPROVED: Charlize Theron, who is nominated for Best Actress in a Comedy for her work in 'Young Adults' takes the plunge in a low-cut Dior gown and sparky headband.
Fashion Forward yet Classic Hollywood

NUDE AND IMPROVED: Kate Beckinsale smolders in a cream Cavalli.
I feel like I have seen this before on her, regardless she is beautiful.

NUDE AND IMPROVED: Nicole Kidman looks better than ever in this curve-hugging beaded Versace.
Love it!

A few I wasn't loving...

BEST: LEA MICHELE - 'Glee' star Lea Michele looked like a silver dream in a slinky, embroidered Marchesa illusion dress.
It just felt like too much, very Kim Kardashian like.

WORST: MADONNA - While Madonna took home the award for Best Original Song for 'Masterpiece,' from her directorial debut 'W.E.,' the icon disappointed in a cluttered Reem Acra gown. She did however, get the night's biggest laughs upon accepting her award, joking, 'If I’m still like a virgin, Ricky, then why don’t you come over here and do something about it?'
She is so annoying.  Get over yourself.

BEST: DIANNA AGRON - Fashionista Dianna Agron nails this daring Giles dress with laser-cut swans.
It looks like she has dragons on her chest.

WORST: JESSICA BIEL - She may be engaged to one of the hottest young stars in Hollywood, but Justin Timberlake's fiancé Jessica Biel looks like she hit the red carpet in her grandma's wedding dress.
3rd boob action going on

TWO-TONED: Angelina Jolie channeled Old Hollywood glamor in a white Versace gown with red accents.
They drive me nuts.  She looks so cold.

NUDE AND IMPROVED: 'Parks and Recreation' star Amy Poehler may not have won for Best Actress in a Television Comedy, but she glows nonetheless in a golden short-sleeved gown.
Not loving the sleeve length on this gown

NUDE AND IMPROVED: 'Bridesmaids' star and Best Actress in a Comedy nominee Kristen Wiig opts for a flesh-toned plunging look.
I think I would have liked this more if her hair color didn't wash her out so much.

So tell me who was your best dressed? worst dressed? did you love the trends?
