Letters

Cheers to the weekend!

Dear Marco, We are so loved!  The outpouring of love and support from our friends makes me so happy.  I can’t wait to celebrate our anniversary this weekend in Malibu at the Getty Villa.  I am also happy the Gators have a bye week because if they didn’t then you know we would be watching football.  Yes, the Gators trump anniversary weekends.  #diehardfans.  Dear Delta, I have been spending lots of time on your website lately pricing out trips.  This makes me one very happy broke girl.  Dear My Fitness Pal, I think I am in love with you.  You make tracking my food and exercise so easy.  Dear In-laws, I was surprised to get an email from you yesterday about visiting us in LA.  This makes me one happy girl you will be here for a week!  I think a weekend in San Diego might be in order.

The Best is Yet to Come

Four years ago today...
I woke up for the last time in my parents house as a single woman
I put on the prettiest dress I have ever worn
I was given away by my daddy
I said I DO to the love of my life
We became Mr. & Mrs. Garcia
M,
Cheers to us on four years of marriage.  You are my love, rock and best friend.  I feel the world is at our finger tips at this very moment.  I can't wait to see what the next four years have in store for us.  They are going to be great, I just know it.
Forever Yours,
B

The XFACTOR

It's no secret I have a pretty big crush on Britney Spears.  When she was announced to be a judge on XFactor I might have freaked out just a little bit {insert me jumping up and down while my husband looked at me like I was crazy}.  I will say she is better than I thought she would be and I can't wait for the live shows.

My favorite contestent so far has been Julia Bullock, the girl who sang my favorite song, Pumped Up Kicks.  If you haven't heard it listen below.  You won't be disappointed!  If she doesn't make it through I will be crushed-for real. Even the hubs thought she was awesome and he is pretty hard to impress when it comes to music.

Have you been watching this season?  What do you think of Brit Brit?  Who's your favorite contestant so far?

Abode Style: Where I Shop

Decorating our home is one of my favorite things to do.  I love finding that perfect piece I have been dying over.  I constantly want to redecorate our place; I blame it on the fabulous design blogs out there. When it comes to decorating I am on a shoe string budget, maybe once we move into an actual home I will stop spending money on my closet and more on investment pieces for our home.

Right now I love to pick up accessories from West Elm, Z Gallerie, Urban Home, World Market, Target, Etsy, Goodwill and Flea Markets.  LA has some of the best markets in the country.  If you ever visit I highly recommend leaving your Sunday's open to check one out.  Who knows what you will find?

In my book West Elm totally trumps its sister company PB.  It is younger, colorful and fresh.  It is my go to spot for bedding and bath decor.

Z Gallerie is like my flashy best friend.  I don't have a ton of stuff from here, but whenever I walk through the store I want to redecorate.
So tell me, where are you favorite places to shop?  What am I missing?

Random Weekend Mumblings

Here are some pretty flowers for you on this beautiful Monday morning!
{via}

 The Emmys=unimpressed
This should be my favorite award show of the year considering how much TV I watch, but I was a little underwhelmed.  The fashion was okay.  The speeches were okay.  Jimmy Kimmel was okay.  Nothing really wowed me this year except for Aaron Paul’s finance.  She is beautiful!

Hot, Hot, Hot
This weekend was hot again.  I am so over the 80+ temps on the weekends.  M and I basically sit in front of the fan, take cold showers and eat popsicles while watching football.

Sleep
This weekend was one for the books.  M was in bed by 8 PM on Friday night.  I slept until 3 PM on Saturday.  I guess our bodies were trying to tell us something.  Jealous of our fabulous weekend?

Healthy Eating Habits
I think working with skinny girls all day M-F is starting to wear off on me.  Yall eat hummus with veggies, fruit, limited meat intake and rarely drink.  Honestly the last part really impresses me.  Is this what I need to do to look like a skinny mini? If so I am in.  We stocked up on healthy foods from Ralph’s and TJ’s this weekend.  My running shoes are under my desk.  I am ready.  Operation no more jiggle is in full effect.

Sunday Social

1. What is something you have wanted to do but are afraid of?
Get another tattoo.
I have M's name on my wrist and love it.  I have always said I want another one, but I am scared I will make a mistake picking out my next one.

2. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
I see M and I traveling the world, getting ready to start a family and me driving around in an Audi convertible {my dream car before babies-Christian Grey inspired-yes, I am THAT lame}.

3. What are you looking forward to before the end of 2012?
I am looking forward to growing with my new job as well as a few trips we have planned.  Maybe lose a few pounds in the process?

4. What are your hopes for your blog?
My hopes are for it to continue to grow and to provide more of an insight into our lives.

5. Do you always see yourself living in your current town/city?
This is such a loaded question...
LA is great for now.  I would love to live in San Diego, Austin or New Mexico.  M wants to live in Colorado.  Honestly we don't plan on moving until we retire or M makes crazy movie money and we can have homes in all three places.

6. What is your morning routine?
Wake up at 7:30. Shower. Breakfast & read blogs. Hair & make-up. Dress. Kiss M. Walk out the door between 8:30-8:45ish.
This is so different than my previous routine and I LOVE it!

Friday's Letters

I don't think I will ever get sick of seeing palm trees at sunset

Dear Friday, I am kind of happy you are here.  This weekend will be pretty low key and the weather will be perfect.  Maybe a run outside as well as lunch at Tender Greens will be in order.  Also the Gators play the Wildcats at the Swamp.  I think we should be okay.  Dear Marco, Thank you for finishing the laundry when I was too tired to keep my eyes open Tuesday night.  You mom trained you well for sure.  I will be forever eternally grateful you know how to clean and don’t expect me to pick up after you.  Dear London & Amsterdam, I have been planning trips out the wazoo for my co-workers this week.  It would be amazing if I get to visit you one day.  Dear Kristie, Today is your birthday!  You are 23, still such a baby.  I can’t wait to see what life has in store for you my sweet sister.  Dear October, Flights are almost booked for our weekend in Phoenix with my parents.  I am so excited for our get away at Casa Collingsworth, my mom’s best friends “resort” aka amazing home.  Dear Self, Some days I just have to pinch myself; I am beyond blessed.

I believe...

in communication between husband and wife
in lazy, rainy days with movies and takeout
you are the only person who can determine your own happiness
crying can be the best stress reliever
multiple vacations per year
in cupcakes, ice cream, candy-basically sugar in general
alone time is a good thing in a marriage
in clean sheets on Sunday nights
in the power of new creative ideas
in change
in driving with my windows down and music turned up
my husband annoys me on purpose
being nice gets you farther than being a bitch, but sometimes being a bitch is necessary
in love for all
in myself
