So What Wednesday

Kardashian and Humphries pose on the new cover of People. CLICK ABOVE FOR MORE HOT WIVES IN SPORTS.
So what Kim K got engaged.  I am starting to think that she is ridiculous.  Her ring is 20 carats-totally obnoxious!  Let’s not forget how she became famous people, a sex tape.

So what I have had Foster the People’s new album Touches on repeat for the last 1.5 days.  I love them!

So what I can’t wait for today to be over.  Today we release our numbers to the public for Q1.  Let’s just say work the past couple of weeks has been a little crazy.  Next week things will get back to normalJ

So what I kind of like the new Bachelorette.  I couldn’t stand her on Brad’s season, but she is growing on me.  She is a little corny-hopefully that will end once she becomes comfortable with the guys.

Detail (rollover)
So what I have a slight obsession with ceramic elephants.  I just can’t get enough of them.
So what life is changing.  Work and friendships will always evolve.  I guess that is what makes life exciting!  Although I am still really bummed out my sister-in-law, Allie, moved back to GA L

So what I can’t freaking wait until Friday afternoon to start our Memorial Day weekend!  As of now, not much planned: Laguna Beach one day, The Hangover 2, Tree of Life {maybe} and the gym.

Cabo-Wabo

Today I am going to stop being a negative Nancy because honestly who wants to hear about that!  I am thrilled that MAG and I will be spending a week together in Cabo.  I can't wait to relax, drink by the pool/beach, and searching for Mexican tile {I am obsessed!}  In just a few short months we will be off.  Until then I will just have to look at these pictures and daydream...

Dreams Los Cabos Suites Golf Resort & Spa All Inclusive, San Jose Del Cabo, Mexico
I totally booked us a one bedroom ocean front Honeymoon suite!

Defining Moments

Isn't it crazy when you can pinpoint moments in your life when everything changes?  For the past 15 minutes I have rewritten this post one to many times.  Until I can process the way I feel about the current realization I am in I will just have to leave you hanging.

On a brighter note, who else is totally pumped for the upcoming 3-day weekend?!  This girl is for sure:)

This is totally how I feel today!  What a whirlwind today.  Pure craziness at the office, but nothing that can't be solved with a glass of wine at home.  This weekend Marco and I will be trying a new dinner spot at the Santa Monica Mall.  Saturday hiking Laurel Canyon and the most amazing pork nachos at one of our favorite sports bars.  Sunday I have to work for a couple hours:(  This is the first weekend ever my boss has asked me to come in and I have worked for him for almost 7 months. I guess I can't really complain.  Do you have any fun plans for the weekend?!

PS. We booked our Cabo trip last night.  This girl is uber excited!!

The Hawaii Dilemma

Last year MAG and I decided we wanted to go on a dream vacation with some of our couple friends.  Our destination: HAWAII!

For months we had been talking about this trip, looking at places, check out flights and me talking about it a lot.  Well life changes.  One couple moved across the country and another is prepping for another life change.  So we were the only two soul survivors left.  For the past few weeks we have been looking at our options, pricing things out and have come to realize this trip is going to be expensive.  Like $4500 expensive!  Your first thought would be could we do it cheaper?  The answer is not really.

Flights are $800 per ticket
A condo or nice hotel for the week is about $1300
Rental car $300, food & drink $700-$1000,
Activities $500
Total=around $4500

Yep, that is a lot of money for a week vacation in paradise.  Is it worth it? Yes, but not right now.  I don’t feel comfortable spending an arm and a leg and then be stressed about how much money we spent when we get back.  That isn’t any fun!

So what to do now?  We want to go some place tropical.  We want to go some place we have never been before.  We want to go somewhere for about $2500-$3000.  Honestly we didn’t have very many options so we have decided on Cabo in late August/early September.  To be honest, I am pretty excited about this trip.  We found an amazing all-inclusive in our price range, plane tickets are cheap and I get skymiles {just a few hundred short of my free ticket!}

I think I am handling this very well-since I am a planner and all.  It could have pitched a fit but at the end of the day I know what the right decision is and we are still going on vacation.  And yes, I will have a cocktail or two for you at the swim-up pool bar ;)

So What Wednesday

I always love reading these, but always have a hard time thinking of my own.  Today obviously there were no issues!

So what I am so excited it is Wednesday.  Only 2 more mornings I need to wake up until the weekend. YES!

So what I haven’t worked out in a month.  I am no where near ready for the beach but that is why cute cover-ups are made.

So what we probably aren’t going to Hawaii.  Plans change and spending an arm and a leg to go on vacation will only cause me to stress when we get back.  Therefore we are only spending what we can afford in CaboJ

So what if it drives me crazy when I have more than 30 emails in my inbox at work.  Everything gets filed and color coded.

So what if I am a horrible cook, I am trying to learn.  Honestly the last thing I want to do when I get home is make dinner.  Sometimes it is bad-really bad.

lovely picnic look
So what if I got a little annoyed watching the Gossip Girl finale?  There is no way Serena knew who David O’Russell was and he offered her a job like that.

Life

This is exactly what I am going through right now.  Major life changes. I have to let go of the planner inside me but it is so hard sometimes.  It is only Monday and at 9:30 this morning I texted MAG about plans for this coming weekend.  Sometimes I feel like I am always waiting for the next step in life.  Why can't I just enjoy the present?

New Outlook

This weekend MAG and I received some interesting news about a friend.  It is life changing in a good way.  This news was so shocking that I have been thinking about it contently for the past few days.  It has made me realize a few things about my own life.

MAG and I are on the right path-now more than ever-I firmly believe this.  Sometimes my judgement gets cloudy and I question the life decisions we have made, but not anymore.  We have opportunities we must take advantage of now that we have our finances under control.  Starting today we are putting together our top 30 list before 35.  Somethings are already in the works and other things are dreams that  we both share.  I hope to have the list completed by the end of the week.

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day Mom!
I know growing up I was not the easiest child.
As a infant I couldn't stand being away from you.
As a teenage I thought your sole purpose in life was to embarrass me.
As an adult I couldn't be more grateful for you!
I truly hope that when I have a pleasure of becoming a mom I can do it with as much grace as you do on a daily basis.  Thank you for being you and and letting me be me-pill and all!

Love,
Your Favorite First Born:)

Part I: My Wedding Weekend is Complete Now That I Have Met Giget!

Happy Friday Ya'll!  I am thrilled the weekend is just a few short hours away.  I am still recovering from lack of sleep last weekend while being home for Mel's wedding.

I left last Wednesday on the red-eye.  It was my first one and I still can't make up my mind if I loved or hated it. I sat next to a guy, we made small talk and I thought he was pretty cool.  He told me he had season floor seats to the Lakers right behind our company seats and he is a writer/producer for TV.  I hyped up MAG, traded info and he said to forwarded him his reel.  When we landed I decided to IMDB him to see what projects he has worked on.  Much to my surprise he had two credits!  That is it!  For about 5 minutes I felt like an idiot for giving him my phone number and email and then realized I am way to trusting!  Oh when I googled him he had a complaint for being a con-man.  Awesome!

After getting my bags I hopped on MARTA and watched the sunrise.  It was so peaceful looking out the windows and seeing all the greenery and trees.  My sister, Rebecca, picked me up at the station and we headed to her boyfriends family racing shop to get his truck.  She was nice enough to let me use her car for the weekend and she borrowed his truck.

What was my first order of business before some sleep? Chick-Fil-A of course!  There is nothing like a CFA breakfast.  They seriously have the best fast food ever!  After a couple hours of sleep my mom took a half day from work and we headed to my favorite pizza place, Mellow Mushroom and then to The Forum, an our door shopping mall.  I scored at JCrew with 2 dress drastically marked down {two things to cross off my list!} and a pair of booties from White House Black Market.  Later that afternoon my mother in law wanted to surprise me with my bday gift early.  She knows I have been running a lot and wanted to get me a pair of custom shoes. The idea was great until we go to the store and realized they didn't make custom shoes.  They have you run and film it to see what kind of support you need.  It ended up that I wear the right shoes for me, so it wasn't a total bust!  For dinner my parents, Rebecca and I headed to The Alpine Trattoria.  The food was AMAZING!  The bread was to die for.  For dinner I had grilled salmon, asparagus and spinach orzo pasta with red peppers.  There deserts are unreal too.  {For the Alpharetta locals, they have made the cakes and pies for Ippolitos for years.}  We shared a piece Oreo cake.  Yummy!  After dinner it was FINALLY time for bed.  This made me very happy:)

Friday morning was a day that I think some Americans were anticipating more than some of the British folk-THE ROYAL WEDDING!  Yes, I was one of those people who woke up early to watch.  I went over to my in-laws house to watch with my mother in law.  She took the day off for this royal event.  We oohed and awwed over everything.  I am so happy that we got to watch it together and I know she is too.  After the two royal kisses I had to book it home and get ready for the Bridal Luncheon at the Swan Coach House in Buckhead.  It was so wonderful to see everyone and be with Melissa before her big day.  She got us the most adorable aprons and kitchen stuff as our gifts.  I don't have any pictures from this:(  They are on Mel's camera.  Later that afternoon we met at the hotel by the reception/ceremony site and when out for happy hour.

I have to get some work done now, I will be back later this afternoon or this weekend with a recap of THE {other royal} WEDDING!

Something Borrowed

Last night Allie and I headed to our favorite movie theater to see a sneak peak of Something Borrowed.  Last week I received an email from PopCandy sponsoring an advanced screening.  I jumped on the chance!  I read Something Borrowed a couple years ago and read Something Blue last year.  I love Emily Giffin's books.

What did I think about the movie?  Well, like always the book was better.  I thought the casting was great except for Kate Hudson.  She is supposed to be 29 years old.  She looks like she is in her mid-thirties, but that is just my opinion.  Dax is super hot to say the least!  Ginnifer Goodwin is absolutely adorable and John Krasinski steals the show.

We ended our night with a glass of champagne and toasted to neither one of us being a Darcy:)

A Little Late...

I know I am late on this, but I was out of town and didn't have access to a computer.  I just have to comment and say that I LOVED Kate's dress and I am loving the cover of WWD today.  They asked some of fashions most influential people what they thought of "The Dress."

"I found the fitted lace bodice and the fairly large skirt, without tiers or technical draping, just right-a modern version of a tradition that will never be outdated. I would have preferred a closed neckline, however." Vera Wang

"The dress was absolutely perfect for her.  The important detail was that she looked as though she felt very comfortable and moved very well in it.  The dress didn't move.  I love the long sleeves, the lace, the short veil with the little tiara and her hair.  If I have to rate her from one to 10, I give her an 11.  It was beyond." Carolina Herrera

"I was beyond thrilled when I heard Sarah Burton had done the dress. She has really picked up the pieces and has resurged the hours.  The selection of the designer also shows she takes risks and that's terrific.  They best accessory was the sparkle in her eyes.  You could see the love between them in how they looked at each other. Despite having 2 billion watching, it was still there moment." Monique Lhuillier

I haven't heard of anyone who dislikes the dress, have you?
