Welcome To Atlanta

Although I consider LA my home now, Atlanta will always hold a special place in my heart.  I lived there for 24 years in the same 35 mile radius.  I grew up in Roswell/Alpharetta, when to college downtown and lived in Virginia Highlands & Buckhead before making the big move out west.  Even though I only get back once or twice a year max I have my list of must dos while I am visiting.  They mainly revolve around food, go figure.

1. Noche, Virginia Highlands-I have had so many wonderful memories here over their amazing sangria.  This is where M and I had dinner the night he proposed to me.

2. Mellow Mushroom, The Avenues-If M and I can figure out a way to franchise this place out here we will be instant millionaires, I’m convinced.

3. Ippolitos, Norcross-I worked here for 3 years in college and had the time of my life.  There are many days when I am super stressed out I think back to a simpler life of waiting tables and how much I really loved it.  This mom and pop Italian food is to die for, but you could easily get full on the garlic rolls.

4. The Forum, Norcross-I love this outdoor shopping area.  It is quaint, has my favorite store {J. Crew} and just feels like the south while walking around.  Also the landscape is always perfect.

5. Tin Lizzy’s, Buckhead-I have gotten wasted here more times than I can count.  Such a fun spot to meet for happy hour and their margaritas are super yummy!

6. Souper Jenny’s, Buckhead-I used to work 5 minutes from this place and totally regret not going more often.  They have the best sandwiches and soups.  If you don’t go here what a-shame

7.The Grandparents House, Cumming-Each time we come home we spend one afternoon chatting with M’s 80+ grandparents and their puppy Molly.  They want to hear all about life in LA, what we are up to and tell us all the family gossip.  It is so fun to hangout and get our quality time in.

8. Murphy’s, Virginia Highlands-This place is iconic VH.  Their brunch is to die for.  You might have to wait forever, but trust me it is worth it.

9. Chick-Fil-A, Everywhere-Yes, I know I might get some flack for this, but you don’t grow up in Atlanta without loving Chick-fil-a.  Breakfast, lunch or dinner it is amazing anytime of the day, except for Sunday which is when I always want it.

10. Our Parents House, Alpharetta/Johns Creek-It’s a tie.  I couldn’t pick one over the other, which would start world war three.  Kidding.  There is something about being home for the holidays that makes me so happy.  Seeing our family, friends, wide street lanes, lots of greenery and manners makes it feel like home.  We don’t have any plans of ever living in the south again so we have to enjoy it while we can.
