When I was in college my roommate and I lived in the most
awesome apartment. It was over 1000 sq
ft, had a sun room, fireplace and built-in bookshelves. The location was ideal. I mean who wouldn’t want to live less than
two miles from Virginia Highlands?
Basically we were spoiled. Oh and
our rent was $500 a piece. Those were
the days…

Fast-forward 6 years later and let me tell you apartment
living isn’t as fun. The other night I
was at my breaking point. I was super
annoyed with our living situation for the following reasons:
- 1 parking space: Marco parks on the street everyday and has since we moved here. It sucks having to find parking everyday. And the poor guy has to do street parking at his office too. He can’t catch a break. He was so kind to give me our one spot.
- We can’t have a dog. You have heard me complain a million times about this one. When I asked our landlord about getting a puppy she looked at me in horror, like I had just burnt the building down. For real.
- Shared laundry facilities. Why does it seem everyone has to do laundry the same night we choose to do it?! I don’t have a problem waiting, but when you don’t get your stuff out of the washer or dryer then we have a problem. There are timers. Set your alarm.
- Earth. What I would do for a little piece of earth to call my own. I would plant a herb garden, maybe a lemon/lime tree and some flowers. See I don’t need much space.
What are we going to do about this?! Nothing.
Just bitch and complain about it until we move. And even then I will be shocked if we are
able to get all of the above. Until then
I will hate laundry days, ooo and ahh at every puppy I see and try not to get
angry at M when he gets a parking ticket on street cleaning days.

hang in there friend! and yes, I remember that apartment fondly :)
I hear ya girl! What I wouldn't do for my own laundry room! Lately we have been daydreaming about a garage. Somewhere to store camping/ ski gear and seasonal decor. Oh wouldn't that be lovely!
