I will have a full San Diego recap coming up later this week, but I wanted to share with you some of my birthday goodies.  I felt beyond spoiled on my special day.  

I had convinced myself Marco was getting me camera lenses.  Logically this wouldn't have made sense because we set a firm $100 limit for birthday's every year.  I just assumed he would buy one from one of his many friends who love photography and have a million lenses.  That was not the case...

M hands me a card and as soon as I open it I immediately start crying.  

He sold his light meter he used in college and gave me cash. 

Now, I know some of you are thinking this is kind of impersonal.  

The thing is I rarely go out and spend money on myself, much less buy items that aren't on sale.

We are on a pretty strict "getting out of debt" plan and fun things like new dresses and shoes aren't high on the priority list.

I don't want you to think we are broke because that isn't the case, we just choose to spend our money on nice dinners out or save it for vacations.

I have spent a little bit of it on a new hobo wallet, which I have been wanting for years.

Baby you're a Firework!

This year we spent 4th of July with friends in South Bay.  I am convinced this is the best place to celebrate.  Whenever we have a chance to enjoy Hermosa/Redondo/Manhattan Beach it is always a guaranteed blast.  I would highly consider moving here,but it is a little far removed from our life in LA.  30 mile commute each way is no bueno!

It would not be Independence Day unless Devin read us the Deceleration of Independence

Angeles National Forest

This past Saturday night Marco and I joined 6 of our friends and went camping.  Of course I was the token girl.  Originally we were planning on going to Big Bear, but our group got too large so we split into two.  One there and one in the Angeles National Forest.  We had a blast cooking, hanging out, talking about movies-the typical stuff we do when we are together.

This was our first time desert camping and we had a blast.  We want to plan a couple more camping trip for the fall.  Suggestions are welcome!
