Beer Fest

Each summer, one of our closest friends Spencer, host Beer Fest.  There are 15 or so beers provided and each person/group is assigned a dish to be paired with the beer.  It's a fun way to spend the evening and watch the sunset over the Hollywood Hills.

I always email my MIL with this and she always responds "If there is such a thing as a happy Monday."  Touche Sandy!  This week is happy for me because I am 5 day out from starting my new job which you can read about here.  I have officially checked out from my current position which is going to make it one-long-week.  Between yoga, grocery shopping, laundry and blogging I think I have plenty to keep me busy!  Moving on...

Trying this whole blog button thing out for the first time

On Saturday night I had an epiphany as I was trying to sleep.  I love our apartment and the way it is decorated although it has been quite a process combining M's and my style with what we can afford.  My idea is to do a link up each Tuesday in September.  {more details next week}  I am a little nervous with  how many people will link up, but you have to take chances sometime right?

On a sadder Tony Scott passed away.  He has been so very influential with Marco's career path that it wouldn't feel right not mentioning it.  When we found out last night it was like we had lost a close friend.  His joyful personality and amazing films have had such a wonderful impact on cinema.  M uses moleskin notepads for his random thoughts and ideas.  In one of them from a few years ago says, "Be like Tony Scott."   RIP

Each summer our school handed out passes for a free game of bowling June-August.  You better believe we were there almost every day.

We also were at the movies ALL THE TIME and always had dinner at Rio Bravo before hand.

My first job as a hostess at a fine dining restaurant right by my parents house.  I worked with my 4 best girl friends.

Mainly my Express Zebra pants-I thought I was awesome in those!

Dear Marco, I am looking forward to a chill weekend with you: dinner in Little Osaka, hot yoga, walks by the beach, grocery shopping, organizing the apartment & errands.  Clearly we are an old married couple.  Dear Mom, Your texts last night we cracking me up! The first week back teaching and already drinking wine spritzer on Thursdays, you make me proud.  Dear Pinterest, What would I do without you?  You have kept me quite entertained this week while my job is winding down.  Dear Becca, Mellow Mushroom really?  You have no idea how insanely jealous I am of you right now.  I would go back to waiting tables just for pizza-kidding, but only a little.  Dear Melissa from RHONJ, I miss judged you the first season and I am sorry.  Dear Marco, I like you working late a couple of nights a week.  Rarely do I have alone time and I must say it is quite nice.  When else would I be able to watch One Tree Hill?
