My New Favorite Place

On Saturday before the SoCal Blogger Meet-Up a group of us bloggers {Ashley, Julie, Stephanie, LeAnn, Meg and Selma} met for brunch at Paradise Cafe in Del Mar.  It was super delish and the view was to die for.  We enjoyed getting to know one another and take in the Pacific before heading south to La Jolla.

After the blogger meet-up we Ash, Julie, Stephanie and I wanted to see the famous sea lions walking distance from the restaurant.  They were adorable and had so much personality.

Overall is was a beyond perfect day.  The weather was amazing and the company was superb.  Some days I do have to pinch myself because California is truly an awesome place to live.  We are so spoiled! Ashley has a ton of pictures over at her blog.  You can check them out here.

So-Cal Blogger Meet-Up Recap

Saturday was a complete whirlwind!  The SoCal Blogger meet up was beyond fabulous.  Tammy,  Stephanie , Kelsey, Olivia, Kai & Hollie did an amazing job organizing the event for 60+ bloggers at Roppongi in La Jolla.  My favorite part of the event was making the personal connection with different bloggers and finding new blogs.  I am kind of a blog whore ;)

Busy Busy Weekend!

Happy Friday!  This week has flown by.  It makes me very happy because we have a FULL weekend ahead of us.

Tonight is date night: Sushi and a movie.  There is this little sushi place just a few blocks from our apartment and it is always packed.  They opened up another one for the overflow.  I guess that means it is super yummy!  After dinner we are heading to our favorite movie theater to see The Descendants.  Have to cross another Oscar movie off our list.

Saturday is going to be a long, busy, wonderful day.  Ashley and I leaving LA bright and early for brunch with a couple bloggers before the SoCal Blogger Meet-Up in San Diego.  To say I am excited about tomorrow is a bit of an understatement.  I really enjoy blogging and think it will be awesome to spend the afternoon.  I know the girls have gone out of their way to make this a terrific event.  I can’t wait to see what’s in store for us tomorrow.

Sunday is the best day ever, Madonna performs at the Super Bowl.  I kid, I kid.  It is about the game, but I do think it is pretty awesome she is performing.  She may drive me nuts with her personal ideals, but she is an out of this world performer.  You can’t deny that.  I heard she is going on tour this year and I would LOVE to see her live.  I think it is on my bucket list.

Ashley posted a recap of our double date night this past Sunday.  Her photos are awesome and now it makes me want to learn our camera even more plus photo shop.  I know I have mentioned how grateful I am for her entering my life before, but I truly am.  It’s amazing how God works.  I need to remember this more.

That’s all for today friends.  I am full of energy this morning.  I blame it on my new exercising habits.  Not a bad thing.  I just wish this work day would end.  I am ready for my weekendJ

Resolution Recap: January

Can you believe January is over?  I think I am getting old because time is really starting to fly by.  I feel bad wishing the work weeks away, but I live for my weekends {as much as I love my job}.

Here are my resolutions for the year.  I must say I did pretty well for the first month!

1. Cook at home more and try different recipes 

Doing pretty well! We are eating at home A LOT more and I am doing okay in the recipe section.  I hope to try out some fun things this weekend.

2. Focus on paying down our debts

We have a plan and are sticking to it.  We have our eye on the prize, a house! 

3. WORKOUT

Yes! I clocked the gym 18 times and ran/mostly elliptical for 47.95 miles

4. Make friends

I would have to say yes.  I met Ashley and we have hung out twice.  I wish she was in LA a little longer than 3 months though:(

5. Read a book a month

Yes! I finished My Horizontal Life and started Gone with the Wind yesterday.  I know two completely different books.

6. Say YES more!  

Only one opportunity has come up and I did say yes.  I am batting 100% right now.

What I'm Loving

Happy Wednesday!  This week seems like it is flying by compared to last week and this makes me very, very happy.  I am beyond ready for the weekend.

I'm LOVING running!  Last night was the first time in about 3 weeks I ran and I loved every moment of it.  I did 4 miles {a personal best} in 48 minutes.  I walked another mile just so I could say I did 5 to my hubby.

I'm LOVING my mixed CDs.  You never know what is going to be on them.  I have come across a little LFO {remember them?!}, Kilo Ali, lots of 70's and 80's.

I'm LOVING DMB!  This morning on my way to work I was jamming out to #41 {my favorite}.  I felt like I was a kid again and really, really, really hope they are going on tour again this summer.  I have to see them for my 8th time. 

I'm LOVING I am gaining more experience at work.  I am in the starting phase of planning a conference in Hong Kong this spring.  No, I don't get to go. I am not in the budget to attend:(
